Short Title:
Using Analytics to Coach Students and Using Podcasts to Tailor Elementary Spanish Students
  • Using Learning Analytics to Coach Students to “Electrifying” Careers in Engineering
Jamie Phillips and colleagues will discuss how they study the many factors that determine success for students in electrical engineering, as well as distinguishing characteristics for subdisciplines within electrical engineering. Student data analytics are employed to ultimately develop tools to aid in recruiting and advising in electrical engineering based on student grade performance, activities, and interests.

  • Using Podcasts to Tailor Elementary Spanish Instruction
Tatiana Calixto will present on the need to create online Learning Objects for Elementary Spanish for High Beginners to support students outside of the classroom, as well as the discovery of the most effective use of these resources. This initiative is part of the Michigan Education through Learning Objects team, a U-M cross-disciplinary collaboration that facilitates development of technology-infused courses for enhanced learning.
